NHL 17 beta has been extended!
The weekend is saved! The NHL 17 public beta has been extended until Monday the 10th of August.

Update: In case you need a key for the beta, IGN are now giving away PS4 and XB1 codes for free to everyone.

NHL 17 HUT card design - Base, MS, TOTW, POTG, Legends
The first images that show the design of the cards in NHL 17 HUT has just been released! On their Twitter account, EA Sports just posted images that show us the design of the Base, Milestone, Team of the Week, Player of the Game, and Legends cards in NHL 17! And wow, do they look good! They have been completely redesigned and are now more clean and stylish.

    Try out NHL 17 before it is released!
    EA Sports announced that players will have a chance to try out the new NHL 17, in a public beta, before the final game arrives in September. Online versus, EASHL, and, most importantly, Hockey Ultimate Team (HUT) are the modes that will be available in the beta! The beta will be available to play for a whole week, from July 28 to Aug 4. The beta will be available to both PlayStation 4 and Xbox One users.

    Design for International Player of the Game cards
    The International Player of the Game cards have now gotten an own design, so they can be distinguished from the others cards in the search page and when they are used in the team builder. The player search form has also gotten a little update and is now playing a bit nicer on mobile. Expect more updates on it to come!

    Flashback Brian Gionta
    Featured on this week's Flashback Friday is Brian Gionta! During the 05-06 season, when Gionta played for the New Jersey Devils, he accomplished his best career performance, by far! He recorded 48 goals and 41 assists, for a total of 89 points, which is a quite a bit more than his second best season, the 08-09 season, where he was recorded for a total of 60 points.

    Old WJC stars JFB cards, a MS and a POTG
    This weeks Junior Flasback cards are players who got recognized for their performance at a young age. Representing their home nation, the players are, R. Ellis, Z. Parise, J. Carlson, and M. Zibanejad.

    Two other cards were recently released as well. A milestone card for D. Phaneuf, as he hit got his 300th career assist, and a Player of the Game card for J. Bernier, for his 39 saves shutout performance against the Anaheim Ducks!

    Team of the Week 17
    Many thought it was going to be another International POTG Team of the Week, full of talented young players. Instead, EA Sports released a regular Team of the Week, featuring no less than both a J. Toews and a P. Kane, along with two more cards that many have been waiting on to getting an upgrade, to have a boost to their Movember cards: R. Kesler and J. Klingberg.

    All Star John Scott
    As John Scott has been voted by fans, the captain of the Pacific Division in the 2016 All Star game, he earned the first All Star card* in HUT 16!

    The card may not look that good with only 82 overall. But with 95 checking on 280 lbs (127kg), I guess he can run over anyone!

    Kasperi Kapanen International Player of the Game
    Kasperi Kapanen scored the Golden Goal in 2016 IIHF World Junior Championship final game, giving Finland the gold medal as they won over Russia. This performance has given him the highest ranked International POTG card thus far in HUT, with an 87 overall (and 93 speed, wow!). You can see the card here.
